When Losing is Winning
We all come up against some sort of loss in our lives. The shock or difficulty in accepting things that we find as a negative can feel overwhelming. Yet, there is usually a road ahead and when looking back, there are often positives that end up coming out of the situation.
I have spent many of the blog posts in 2025 to suggest that Faith is the simple answer. Often, it seems that these tough times that pushes us to reach out in Faith. Personally, having children adds a layer of "this just happened and it is out of my control" situations. But through these times, I remind them and myself of Romans 8:28 : 'And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.'
With this in mind, loss can create gain. Not only in our mindset but with opening new doors in our life. From a portfolio management perspective, an example of turning loss into a win at year end is called "tax loss harvesting". Jake's December "Top Down Bottom up" addresses this topic. In general, decisions are made by our team to turn losses on certain holdings into gains in the form of saving on taxes. This is something we do across the board with our client holdings since we seek a new road ahead that could provide a better opportunity. We take the loss and look for the win.
As we wrap up "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year "2025, we wish you and yours many Blessings this Christmas and Happy New Year 2026! My hope has been for those that read this blog, to 'Keep the Faith" and grow your positive road ahead - in your life and in your portfolio - while continuing to allow us to serve you and your financial needs! Thanks for your trust and remember, God is good!
